Apocynum cannabinum L.

Indian hemp and its relatives (the dogbanes) have milky sap. They are distantly related to milkweeds, with which they share not only the trait of milky sap, but also similar leaf shape and growth habit. The flower shape, however, is quite unlike that of milkweeds.
