Leafcup is highly variable in the size of the rays -- the white things that look like petals. Sometimes the rays are large enough that the flowerhead resembles a stubby daisy. On other plants, such as the one below, the rays are tiny or absent. Photographed in late June in Wythe County, Virginia.

Leafcut has large, coarsely lobed leaves and relatively small flowers. Photographed in late June in Wythe County, Virginia.
