Meadow Salsify (Showy Goat's-beard)
Tragopogon pratensis
The flowers are open in the morning and close around noon. This plant is very similar to Tragopogon dubius, but that plant has longer bracts -- much longer than the petal-like rays. On Tragopogon pratensis, the bracts are around the same length as the rays.
