Scotch Thistle
Onopordum acanthium

As the common name indicates, Scotch thistle is native to Scotland -- and to much of the rest of Eurasia.

• Family: Aster (Asteraceae)
• Habitat: roadsides, disturbed areas
• Height: 2-4 feet
• Flower size: 1 to 2 inches across
• Flower color: pink
• Flowering time: July to September
• Origin: Eurasia
