Arrow-leaved Violet Viola sagittata (Viola fimbriatula) Leaf shape is a distinguishing feature for this violet -- they are oval to triangular in outline, rather than heart-shaped. The hairy leaves of this specimen mark it as Viola sagittata var. ovata, which some authorities divide into its own species -- Viola fimbriatula, or northern downy violet.
Family: Violet (Violaceae)
