Hollow Joe-Pye-weed (Trumpetweed)
Eutrochium fistulosum (Barratt) E.E. Lamont

Connecticut has four species of Joe-Pye-weed, all with clusters of dull pink flowers. Hollow Joe-Pye-weed has a hollow stem. Note the whitish bloom on the stem, characteristic of this species.
