This photo shows two traits that distinguish this plant from other huckleberries and blueberries. First, note that the fruits are interspersed with small leaves (in technical terms, the racemes are foliaceous). Second, note the tiny pointed tip (a mucro) on each full-size leaf. This is most obvious on the leaves near the right edge of the photo.
