Calico Aster
Symphyotrichum lateriflorum (L.) A. & D. Löve

The disk flowers of calico aster start yellow and age to dark red-purple. Many other asters have disk flowers that change color with age, but the change is particularly striking in calico aster. The resulting multicolor look of the flowers gave rise to the "calico" in the name.
