Shopboard Rock was acquired by the Haddam Land Trust in 2025. Long a historic landmark, is said to have received its name from the fact that a tailor once cut a suit of clothes upon it for a customer whom he happened to meet there. The large rock is thought to be a large glacial erratic. The ridge is dominated by oak/hickory forest, with many mature pitch pines within. Deer pressure is heavy and the understory is sparse.
